Dear Cat Lover,

A few months ago a dear friend called and was sobbing uncontrollably. Lily, her sweet tabby that has been a member of her family for five years, was very ill. She was too upset to drive and asked if I would drive them to the Vet.

When I first laid eyes on Lily, I was shocked to see the condition she was in. She was listless and looked emaciated. Her fur was dull and I noticed a bit of foam around her mouth. My friend said Lily had not had anything to eat or drink for two days. Her breathing was very shallow and she looked gravely ill.

We rushed Lily to the Veterinarian and began a very anxious wait. It seemed like hours before the Vet finally came to speak to us. He said he found the reason Lily was so ill and that her chances of survival were 50/50.

What he said next was shocking. He said the reason Lily became so ill was because she had eaten a small piece of a common household plant my friend had in her home. Fear shot through me as I realized I had the same plant in my home and my two Burmese liked to play in the same room as the plants!

Lily had to stay at the Vet’s office and as I drove my friend home she kept saying “If I had only known, I would never have put my Lily in danger.” It was heart wrenching to see her blame herself.

When I arrived home I immediately removed the plants and checked on my cats. Thank goodness, they were fine. I began to wonder about all the other things in my home that may be a danger to my cats. I recall the last time I had my Burmese Zaki at the Vet’s office for surgery and noticed a small laminated brochure on the wall that outlined some of the items that can be dangerous to your pets. Quite a few things surprised me and I thought that more people need to be educated on this subject. I decided to write an eBook about it and this episode with Lily showed me how urgent it was to get this done.

So after months of extensive research the Toxic to Cats eBook was born.

I commend you for your efforts in research. Wow !!!!!

Love pages 22,35 (pictures of Zaki & Buki)

However page 9 would have to be my favorite. Lots of disturbing news there about Plants, that's a huge list there. You have really done your homework in how brutal a simple domestic environment can be for cats. A real eye opener!

Well done
